The Heart of Texas (HOT) volleyball officials’ chapter is one of 29 chapters, organized into 14 districts in the Texas Association of Sports Officials (TASO) volleyball division. TASO is the governing body for all high school sports in the state of Texas.
TASO works with the University Interscholastic League (UIL) which is the governing body for all high school extracurricular activities in the state of Texas. Unlike other states, TASO is an independent organization of sports officials governed by sports officials. The HOT chapter is also an independent organization of officials run by its officials and in this case volleyball officials.
The HOT chapter holds its bimonthly meetings at the Harris Community Center in Belton during the officiating season of 2024 which is from July to November. This meeting place can change from year to year.
The HOT chapter is organized under the guidelines of the TASO constitution and by-laws and has its own constitution and by-laws. The chapter is run by an executive committee composed of chapter officers of the president, vice-president, recording secretary, treasurer, and assignment secretary. The executive committee also consists of a representative from each of the three different volleyball official rankings, those being a certified representative, an approved representative, and a registered representative.
